Mums Guide to Teenage Parties

Organising a party for teenages 13-16yrs can be a daunting task particularly for Mums.

Contrary to popular belief there is very little trouble at them in general however they are

teenagers so given any opportunity to misbehave they will. The main thing is to reduce the

opportunities they have for trouble. Based on the hundreds of teen parties I have done there

seems to be a few very common mistakes parents make and this guide will help you avoid them.

1) Supervision: Make sure you have several adults to help you, Mum & Dad alone is not enough to

keep an eye on 100+ teenagers, you can't be everywhere !

2) Put an adult on the door and don't let them out once they are at the party.

3) Regularly check in the toilets, for some reason teenagers love to wet up toilet rolls

and block up the sinks. No idea why , but they do.

4) Alcohol, allow it at your peril. From 13yrs up they will try to smuggle in alcohol

usually disguised as coke or mineral water in 1.5 and 2 l bottles.

5) Keep an eye on the fire exits they will try to use them to get in mates who arn't invited

and also as a means of entry and exit from the venue.

6) Give your guests invites to keep out any people you don't want to come.

7) Relax : Follow the tips above and you should have a trouble free party !
